DRONES PYTHON EDITION AI EDITION

Drone - Rescue mission (AI Light)

Ages - 8 - 12

An emergency signal has been detected.

Supplies are stranded, rescue teams need help, and only intelligent drones can reach the danger zone in time. In this mission-based camp, students become drone pilots and problem-solvers, using code and AI-inspired logic to guide drones through rescue challenges. Every mission requires careful thinking, smart decisions, and creative solutions.

DRONES PYTHON EDITION AI EDITION

Drone - Rescue mission (AI Light)

In Drone - Rescue Mission (AI Light), your child steps into the role of a rescue engineer and drone pilot while getting an exciting first look at Machine Learning and gesture recognition

This camp introduces students to Python programming, drone flight fundamentals, and a guided introduction to AI.

Campers explore how computers can recognize gestures and make predictions by working with pre-written Machine Learning code, then filling in key pieces to understand how AI systems work, without getting overwhelmed by complexity.

AI-python-Drones-Camp

Students focus on how AI behaves, how models are trained, and how predictions influence real-world actions. This makes the camp the perfect bridge between basic coding and more advanced AI programs for teens.

Solution Topic

Through hands-on missions and guided coding, your child learns how AI, code, and drones work together.

Your child will:

  • Learn Python fundamentals used to control drone behaviour

  • Understand how drones move, navigate, and respond to commands

  • Explore Machine Learning through gesture recognition

  • Work with pre-written AI code to understand how predictions work

  • Use trained gestures to influence drone-based rescue missions

  • Practice problem-solving, testing, and refinement

  • The emphasis is on understanding concepts, not memorizing syntax

Design, Experiment, Build

Campers Will:

  • Learn the engineering design process

  • Research, ideate and identify the growing trends in Drone technology

  • Design and map your Drone to a real-life challenge

  • Take a deep dive into how AI detects faces

  • Control Drones using your Body

  • Conquer pre-defined maneuvers and surprise challenges using AI-coded drones

  • Showcase and present

AI Light in This Camp

Students are introduced to Machine Learning through gesture recognition and predictive behaviour. Using guided coding, campers train simple models and observe how computers recognize patterns and make predictions. These predictions are then connected to drone behaviour during rescue missions.

The focus is on understanding how AI systems learn from data and influence real-world actions, not on building complex models from scratch.

Camp Learning Journey

Day 1: Coding Foundations & Drone Flight Basics

Campers are introduced to Python programming through simple commands and logic. Students also learn drone safety, flight basics, and how code connects to real-world movement.

Day 2: What Is AI?  Gesture Recognition & Training Models

Students are introduced to Machine Learning as a predictive tool. Campers explore how gesture recognition works by training models using examples and observing how computers learn patterns.

Day 3 - NO CAMP

Day 4: AI in Action Guided Coding & Smart Missions

Using pre-written Python and AI code, students fill in key sections to connect gesture predictions to drone behaviour. Campers see how trained gestures can trigger actions during rescue missions.

Day 5:Test, Refine & Rescue Mission Showcase

Students test and refine their missions, improving reliability and understanding how AI decisions affect outcomes. The camp concludes with a Rescue Mission Showcase, where campers explain how gestures, AI, and Python worked together.

SKILLS GAINED

Why does this camp matter?

AI and automation are shaping the future, and this camp introduces students to these ideas in a safe, exciting, and age-appropriate way. By working with gesture recognition and guided AI code, your child learns how intelligent systems work.

This camp prepares students for deeper AI learning in later programs, including advanced teen-level AI and drone camps.
