EMERGING TECH - WEARABLES: AI LIGHT

Fashion Wearables - SMART Wearable Accessories

Ages 10 - 17

Aug 4th - Aug 7th, 2026

What if your clothes could light up, react, or tell a story?

In this creative tech camp, students blend fashion and technology to design wearable accessories that respond to movement, light, or input. Campers become designers and engineers, turning everyday wear into interactive creations.

ARDUINO WEARABLES - AI LIGHT EDITION

Fashion Wearables - SMART Wearable Accessories

In Fashion Wearables Lab (Ages 10–17), students explore the intersection of fashion, electronics, and programming by designing and coding functional wearable technology.

Using Arduino and introductory C programming, campers learn how real wearable devices are built and controlled. Students design accessories such as smart scarves, illuminated headbands, or interactive sneaker add-ons, focusing on both aesthetics and functionality.

This camp introduces students to real-world wearable tech concepts used in fashion, fitness, and product design, making it ideal for creative students interested in engineering, design, or technology careers.

Solution Topic

In this camp, students explore investigative questions by designing real wearable technology, building electronic circuits, and programming smart behaviour using Arduino and C.

Students will inquire:

  • How do wearables sense input and respond intelligently?

  • How can timing and logic control interactive effects?

  • How do engineers debug and improve wearable systems?

Students explore how modern wearable technology blends design, electronics, and intelligent behaviour.

Design, Experiment, Build

Students work through structured build challenges.

Campers will:

  • Select and define a wearable project

  • Plan electronics and code integration

  • Build circuits using Arduino LilyPad

  • Program custom behaviours

  • Test and debug systems

  • Refine comfort and performance

  • Present finished wearables

This stage emphasizes systems thinking and iteration.

AI Light in This Camp

Students explore how wearable technology uses data and logic to respond intelligently. Campers write C code for Arduino to control smart behaviour, learning how embedded systems power real-world wearables.

Camp Learning Journey

Day 1 - No Camp

Day 2: Wearable Tech Industry & Arduino Foundations

Students explore applications of wearable technology and learn the basics of Arduino hardware. Campers plan their wearable project and set up their first circuits.

Day 3: Programming Wearables with C

Students write C code to control LEDs and wearable behaviour. Campers learn about variables, loops, and timing to create dynamic effects.

Day 4: Integration, Debugging & Optimization

Students integrate electronics into their wearable designs, focusing on reliability and comfort. Campers debug code, improve performance, and refine aesthetics.

Day 5: Fashion Tech Showcase

Students present their finished wearable projects in a Fashion Tech Showcase, explaining their design choices and how their code works.
