EMERGING TECH - AI LIGHT

Tech Entrepreneur Leadership (AI LIGHT)

Ages 8 - 12

Aug 10th - Aug 14th, 2026

Every great invention starts with an idea, and every idea needs a creator brave enough to build it.

In this innovation-focused camp, students become young entrepreneurs and learn to turn ideas into real products. Through teamwork, design thinking, and technology exploration, campers experience the full journey from concept to creation.

TECH ENTREPRENEUR LEADERSHIP

Tech Entrepreneur Leadership (AI LIGHT)

In Tech Entrepreneur Leadership Lab (AI Light), students step into the roles of innovators, engineers, and startup leaders. This inspiring, hands-on camp teaches students how real products are created, from identifying meaningful problems to building working prototypes and pitching ideas with confidence.

Campers work in teams to explore real-world challenges, practice leadership and collaboration, and apply design thinking principles to develop technology-powered solutions. Using tools such as Arduino, micro:bit, Lilypad, sensors, and basic AI-inspired logic, students design products that are not only functional, but thoughtful and impactful.

Throughout the week, students experience the full product development and leadership cycle: empathize, ideate, prototype, test, iterate, pitch.

Beyond technical skills, this camp emphasizes entrepreneurial thinking, communication, and decision-making, helping students build confidence as creators and leaders in technology-driven spaces.

Solution Topic

In this camp, students explore investigative questions by designing real technology solutions and discovering how AI Light supports smarter products.

Students will inquire:

  • How do entrepreneurs identify problems worth solving?

  • How can technology create smarter solutions?

  • How do teams improve ideas through testing?

Students explore innovation at the intersection of leadership, design, and intelligent technology.

Design, Experiment, Build

Students work through a guided innovation cycle.

Campers will:

  • Select a real-world problem

  • Define users and success criteria

  • Brainstorm solutions

  • Choose technologies

  • Build and test prototypes

  • Experiment with AI Light behaviours

  • Refine based on feedback

  • Pitch their product

This stage emphasizes collaboration, iteration, and communication.

AI Light in This Camp

Students explore how modern products use data, sensors, and logic to make smart decisions. AI Light is introduced through sensor-driven behaviour and intelligent product features, helping students understand how AI enhances real-world products.

Camp Learning Journey

Day 1: Entrepreneur Mindset & Leadership Foundations: From Problems to Possibilities

Students are introduced to the entrepreneurial mindset and what it means to be a leader in technology and innovation. Campers explore real-world problems, practice empathy for users, and learn how leaders identify opportunities. Teams form, define roles, and begin applying design thinking to choose a problem worth solving. Leadership focus: collaboration, decision-making, and vision setting.

Day 2: Product Strategy & Engineering Exploration - Choosing the Right Tools

Students explore how entrepreneurs select the right technology for their product. Campers experiment with Arduino, micro:bit, Lilypad, sensors, and basic circuits, evaluating which tools best solve their chosen problem. Teams begin building early prototypes while learning how leaders balance feasibility, impact, and design. Leadership focus: strategic thinking and team planning.

Day 3: Prototyping & Technical Leadership

Building and Iterating Teams move into active development, building and coding working prototypes. Students write basic programs, test functionality, and refine their designs. Campers learn how technical leaders guide iteration, handle setbacks, and improve products through testing and feedback. Leadership focus: problem-solving, resilience, and iteration.

Day 4: Smart Products & AI Light

Innovation Through Intelligence: Students enhance their prototypes with AI Light concepts, such as sensor-based decision-making, conditional logic, and data-driven responses. Campers explore how modern products use intelligence to adapt and respond to users. Teams test reliability, usability, and refine product behaviour. Leadership focus: innovation and responsible use of technology.

Day 5: Product Pitch, Leadership Communication & Innovation Showcase

Students shift from builders to founders and presenters. Campers learn how to communicate their vision, explain their product’s value, and pitch with confidence. Teams present their prototypes during a Tech Innovation Showcase, demonstrating both technical skill and leadership growth. Leadership focus: communication, confidence, and storytelling.
