EMERGING TECH - DIGITAL 3D DESIGN AND FILM STUDIO

Digital Animation Studio: Animated Films & Cinematic Storytelling

In Digital Animation Studio, teens step into the role of animation creators and directors.

Students learn how animated films are built from the ground up, starting with story concepts and storyboards, then bringing scenes to life through movement, effects, and sound. Teens use professional Adobe tools to animate characters, create environments, build title sequences, and polish their final film.

This camp is beginner-friendly, but it feels professional: teens leave with a complete short film and a strong foundation in modern digital animation workflows.

Solution Topic

Through guided design challenges and creative experimentation, teens explore how digital ideas become real, physical objects.

Students investigate questions such as:

  • How do designers turn simple shapes into complex 3D objects?

  • What makes a digital model strong, balanced, and printable in the real world?

  • How does scale, thickness, and structure affect whether an object can be 3D printed?

  • What design choices improve both function and appearance?

  • How do professional designers refine and improve a model through iteration?

By exploring these questions inside Blender, students learn how real-world objects are designed, tested,

Design, Experiment, Build

Your teen will:

  • Learn the animation pipeline: idea → storyboard → animation → polish → export

  • Build characters and scenes using digital assets

  • Animate motion using keyframes, timing, and cinematic pacing

  • Add effects, titles, and transitions to elevate production quality

  • Explore sound, music, and audio timing to strengthen storytelling

  • Practice creative decision-making, iteration, and finishing a project

Teens leave with confidence not only in tools, but in how to manage a creative project from start to finish.

Camp Learning Journey

Day 1: Studio Kickoff - Story, Style & Storyboarding

Teens explore what makes animated storytelling engaging. Students develop a short film concept, plan scenes using a storyboard, and set up their first animation project. The focus is on creating a clear, achievable story arc.

Day 2: Characters & Motion - Making Animation Feel Alive

Students design or customize characters and begin animating movement using keyframes and timing principles. Teens practice “emotion through motion” and learn how subtle choices create personality and mood.

Day 3: Scenes, Camera & Cinematic Flow

Teens build environments and assemble scenes into a short film sequence. Students learn how framing, camera movement, and transitions improve pacing and make scenes feel cinematic.

Day 4: Effects, Titles & Polish

Students add cinematic enhancements, such as title sequences, lighting-style effects, motion accents, and smoother transitions. Teens refine timing and continuity to make the film feel cohesive and intentional.

Day 5: Sound, Final Edit & Film Festival Showcase

Teens add music and sound effects, complete final edits, export their films, and prepare for the final showcase. Students learn how audio timing can dramatically improve storytelling impact.

Friday Fun Day

Camp ends with a celebratory Film Festival Showcase, where teens premiere their films, share behind-the-scenes decisions, and celebrate each other’s creativity, complete with fun awards like Best Plot Twist, Smoothest Motion, or Most Cinematic Scene.

PIZZA LUNCH DAY (Campers enjoy PIZZA lunch Party on Friday - On us!)

We will know closer to the camp week if this camp will head to a TECH Company.

Why does this camp matter?

Digital animation is no longer limited to movies. It powers the media teens see every day, streaming content, game cutscenes, advertising, social media motion graphics, and interactive experiences.

Learning animation builds a rare combination of skills: creativity, technical thinking, and production discipline.

This camp gives teens:

  • A foundation in industry-style tools and workflows

  • Portfolio-worthy work they can show in applications and interviews

  • Exposure to career paths like animation, motion design, game art, film editing, and creative technology

  • Confidence to turn ideas into finished creative products

For teens who love storytelling, art, film, games, or digital creation—this is a powerful stepping stone.
