EMERGING TECH - AI LIGHT

Starwars - May the CODE be With you - - SCRATCH AI Light Edition

Ages - 8 - 12

July 20th - July 24th, 2026

The galaxy is full of adventure, and the Force is powered by code.

Students enter a Star Wars–inspired universe where they design games, characters, and interactive missions. By coding logic and AI-inspired behaviour, campers discover how games react, respond, and evolve through smart design.

SCRATCH GAME DEV - AI LIGHT EDITION

Starwars - May the CODE be With you - - SCRATCH AI Light Edition

In Star Wars: May the CODE Be With You, students become game developers in a galaxy far, far away, using Scratch coding and AI-inspired tools to build interactive Star Wars–themed games.

Campers design their own space adventures, coding characters, missions, and battles using Scratch’s visual programming environment. As the story unfolds, students are introduced to AI Light concepts and learn how games can respond intelligently to player input.

Campers focus on how machines learn from examples and use predictions to trigger game actions, bringing their Star Wars universe to life through code.

Solution Topic

Students explore investigative questions by creating Star Wars–inspired games and discovering how AI Light concepts drive interactive storytelling.

Kids will inquire:

  • How do characters react to player choices?

  • How can trained inputs change story outcomes?

  • How do designers improve clarity and engagement?

Students explore how logic and Machine Learning bring game worlds to life.

Design, Experiment, Build

Campers work through creative game-building challenges.

Campers will:

  • Learn the basics of game development

  • Ideate and brainstorm exciting game ideas

  • Understand Platformer Game Construct

  • Apply Real-world Physics to the game

  • Design a story-driven game world: Gravity, movement, etc

  • Build interactions and events

  • Train ML models

  • Connect predictions to actions

  • Playtest and adjust pacing

  • Present their final game

This stage emphasizes creative iteration and storytelling systems.

AI Light in This Camp

Students get an exciting introduction to Machine Learning using Scratch’s ML extensions. Campers train simple inputs (like sounds, gestures, or choices) and use predictions to trigger game actions, such as activating a “Force power,” launching a special move, or unlocking mission events.

AI Light focuses on the core concept: machines learn from examples and use predictions to make decisions, without complex math or theory.

Camp Learning Journey

Day 1: Welcome to the Galaxy - SCRATCH & Story Setup

Students explore the SCRATCH coding interface and begin designing their Star Wars–inspired game world. Campers create characters, scenes, and story elements.

Day 2: Coding the Force - Game Mechanics & Logic

Students code movement, actions, and interactions using the SCRATCH blocks. Campers learn how events and conditions control gameplay.

Day 3: Training the INTELLIGENT Force - Introduction to AI Machine Learning

Campers use Scratch ML extensions to train simple inputs (such as gestures, sounds, or choices) and explore how games can respond intelligently.

Day 4: AI in Action - Smarter Gameplay

Students connect trained ML models to game logic, enabling characters or events to react to predictions.

Day 5: Final Mission & Galactic Showcase

Campers refine their games and present their creations during a Galactic Game Showcase, explaining how coding and AI Light were used.

SKILLS GAINED

Why does this camp matter?

Games are one of the most powerful ways children engage with technology

In this camp, students move from playing games to thinking like creators, learning how logic, decision-making, and cause-and-effect shape interactive experiences.

By introducing AI Light concepts, students begin to understand how games can react and adap, skills that connect directly to computational thinking, problem-solving, and creative design. This camp strengthens both technical confidence and storytelling skills in a way that feels fun and meaningful.
