What if your clothes could light up, or your cuddle friend could react, or tell a story?
In this creative tech camp, students blend wearable technology, design, and code to make a cuddly plushie friend that is smart and reacts to its surroundings. Campers become designers and engineers, turning everyday wear into interactive creations.

ARDUINO WEARABLE TECH - AI LIGHT EDITION
Wearable TECH - SMART CUDDLE FRIEND
In the Wearables Lab, your child becomes a Maker technologist: designing, building, and coding wearable technology they can wear or embed in smart toys
Campers explore how technology is used in the fashion and wearable industry, from light-up clothing to smart accessories. Using Arduino with a block-based coding interface, students learn how code can control lights and simple behaviours embedded into wearable designs. `

Throughout the camp, students design functional fashion pieces such as light-up badges, headbands, or sneaker add-ons, combining creativity with hands-on electronics.
Solution Topic
In this camp, students explore investigative questions by designing wearable creations, building soft circuits, and discovering how AI Light concepts help clothing and accessories respond in smart ways.
Kids will inquire:
How can clothing light up or react when something moves?
How do circuits and code help wearables know when to turn on or off?
What happens when a wearable doesn’t work—and how can it be improved?
Through playful design and experimentation, students explore how fashion and technology come together.
Design, Experiment, Build
Campers work through creative fashion-tech challenges.
Campers will:
design your cuddly plushie friend
Plan component placement
Build wearable circuits
Program simple behaviours
Experiment with senors and feedback
Adjust designs and code
Share creations in a showcase
This stage emphasizes exploration, creativity, and discovery.
AI Light in This Camp
Students explore AI Light by programming wearables to respond to input patterns, such as movement or timing. Campers learn how smart clothing and accessories use data to trigger behaviours, connecting fashion with intelligent technology.
Camp Learning Journey
Day 1 - No Camp
Day 2: Introduction to Wearable Tech & Fashion Design
Students explore examples of wearable technology and learn how fashion and electronics come together. Campers sketch and plan their wearable project, choosing from accessories such as scarves, headbands, or shoe add-ons.
Day 3: Circuits & Coding: Making Wearables Light Up
Campers learn how wearable circuits work and use block-based coding to control LEDs. Students program simple patterns and test how code affects their designs.
Day 4: Build, Customize & Test
Students integrate electronics into their wearable projects, secure components, and refine designs. Campers test their wearables and adjust code to improve effects.
Day 5: Fashion Tech Showcase
Campers complete their projects and present their wearable creations in a Fashion Tech Showcase, explaining how their design and code work together.
